The alarm clock rang relentlessly at 2:30. While still half-asleep, I crept into the bathroom to get ready. At 3:30 I was in the car and drove through the quiet night towards Hamburg Airport. The streets were empty, and I enjoyed the calm before the storm of a long day of travel.
At 5:00 I reached the airport. The check-in was quick, and after the security check there was still time for a coffee. At 6:15 my flight to Munich took off on time. The sunrise above the clouds was a beautiful sight and helped dispel the fatigue.
I had a short stay in Munich. After a small snack and some movement at the airport, my onward flight started at 10:00 local time. The flight to Chicago was long, but I used the time to sleep and read.
At 12:30 local time (19:30 German time) I landed in Chicago. Entry went smoothly. After a short refreshment break, we continued to Orlando at 3:30 p.m. The flight was quiet and I was able to relax.
At 8:08 p.m., I landed in Orlando. The hot and humid air received me like a blanket. After landing, I went on to Melbourne, Florida. Finally, at 2:30 am (9:30 German time), I fell to bed exhausted. The long day was over, and I was finally able to enjoy the well-deserved rest. My adventure in Florida had begun.
