Yesterday evening everything was done for a top match in Daytona – but in the end we had to accept our first defeat of the season. Against the Falcons of Daytona State College we lost just 2-3. And yes, that hurts 😤.
I myself stood for the full 90 minutes in place ⚽, but honestly, I am not yet at 100% 💭. After my injury, I just lack a little bit of brilliance and rhythm. Nevertheless, I gave everything – like the whole team 💪.
Joao Victor Loureiro brought us with a strong solo 1:0 in the lead 🎯. Our Keeper Will Blease saved shortly after with a mad parade 🧤. But shortly before halftime, the Falcons got a penalty – 1:1 for the break 😑.
Then came the rain 🌧️. And that's right. The second round was a real fight on wet lawn. Daytona took advantage of two standard situations freezing cold and was suddenly 3-1 ahead – two really stupid goals 😣, which we racked up ourselves.
Henry Crosthwaite could still shorten to 3:2 ⚡, but despite a few good chances in the end we did not manage to turn the game 🔄.
What is particularly frustrating: We could have scored more goals. We have to become more dangerous as a team 🧠🔥.
Conclusion: It was a bitter evening 😞, but we take the lessons with us. Now we go to Texas, there are two important games waiting. We are still a strong team – and we will fight back 🛡️⚔️.
Let's go, Titans! 💙⚽🔥
